History and Past Events

Whilst a bowls club existed in Bramhope between the two world wars it eventually ceased to operate due to lack of support. Bramhope Bowls Club was re-formed in 1985 with assistance from the Sports and Parish Councils, a local trust and the Village Hall (Robert Craven Memorial Hall) in whose grounds the green is located. The green was laid under the direction of Joe Maiden, the well known horticulturist and BBC Radio Leeds gardening expert and is recognised as one of the best in the area.
